TRIAL INFORMATION FOR OURC
NOVICE & TOURNAMENT TRIALISTS
• The first training for Novice and Tournament trialists will be at the Clubrooms on Saturday 28th February Female's 8am, Males 10am– Meeting and training. Where? OUSA Aquatic Centre on Magnet St (see map)
• A large number of people will miss out on crews – if you miss several mornings of trials or training you will be replaced without a second chance.
• There will only be two novice women’s eights and two novice men’s eights and one tournament men’s and one tournament women’s eights chosen to compete at the University Rowing Champs.
• This is only for people who can travel to (and can afford to) to compete at the NZ University Rowing Champs on Saturday/Sunday 11/12th April (the start of mid semester break) You will have to be there on Thurs 9th April or very early on the 10th.
• What do I wear? Long socks, polyprop top, bike pants or tight fitting shorts (not board shorts or rugby shorts), spare clothes, a hat, sunglasses, ADIDAS scuffs or something similar (that you can wear into the water, bare feet is also fine!).
• When? You must be available to train 4 weekday mornings and Saturday morning at 8am - commitment for 5 weeks will have it’s just rewards.
• Costs: 1st Semester Club subs $200 , if you complete five hours work for the club you will receive $50 back. – be prepared to pay this, if you make a crew, by Friday 13th March. This is to be paid at the Club, Money in an envelope with your name and crew written on it. Cheques to be made payable to: Otago University Rowing. You may be replaced after this date if you have not paid.
SENIOR/INTERMEDIATE TRIALISTS
• The first meeting for Seniors and Intermediates will be at the Clubrooms on Monday 2nd March 7pm – Fill in forms, meet coach's, and a few drinks. Where? OUSA Aquatic Centre at the end of Magnet St (see map on back) Formal Training will begin on Tuesday 3rd March at 6am.
• RIGGING BOATS – All past OURC Rowers are required to assist with the rigging of boats this coming Saturday (28th Feb) at 8:30am.
• There will only be one Senior Men’s Eight and one Senior Women’s Eight chosen. There will be only two Intermediate Men’s Eights and two Intermediate Women’s Eights chosen.
• This is only for people who can travel to (and can afford to) to compete at the NZ University Rowing Champs on Saturday/Sunday 11/12th April (the start of mid semester break) You will have to be there on Thurs 9th April or very early on the 10th. NZU Trials will be held on Monday 13th April.
• If you wish to trial for senior and intermediate crews, you must do a 2000m erg; These will be supervised – You will have until Saturday 7th March to complete these. Sign in times will be available at the Monday Meeting. Past erg scores will not be accepted - you will not be trialed without doing an erg. – You only have to complete the 2km to then get an on water trial.
• When? You must be available to train 4 weekday mornings 6am – 7:30am off water, and Saturday morning at 7/8am - commitment for 5 weeks will have its just rewards.

SOCIAL FUNCTIONS
• The first function will be Crate Day on Saturday the 14th March starting at1pm Venue TBC. Pub Crawl will be on the Saturday 28th March and Singlet Night on Monday 6th April.

We have just received an invitation for a Men's Eight to race in China at the beginning of May. This crew will most likely be the Men's Senior Eight that races at the NZU Rowing Champs. We will not consider any Otago University students that do not compete for OURC at the NZU Champs.
