Ourc In Action At Otago Champs

Over the weekend the club raced in the Otago champs regatta on Lake Ruataniwha. The first day was cut short by a nasty headwind and racing was called off after an attempt at starting from the 500 metre buoy. Although the wind was strong the sun was still shining and the bbq at entertainment at the course was a lot of fun.
Sunday's weather was much better and most of the programme was completed. There were some good results for the uni crews, notably the novice crews which won several races by huge margins (up to 250m).

Womens Club and Novice crews
WClub 4+ - 3rd
WClub 4x - 3rd
WNov 2x - Fastest time in heats (no final raced)
WClub 1x - Made final but Scratched due to injury.
Mens Novice Crews
4+ - 1st
4x+ - 1st
2x - 1st and 6th
Mens Club Crew
4+ - 2nd
8+ - 2nd
4x- - 4th
2x - 3rd,4th, 7th
1x - 2nd and 3rd in heats(final not raced)
