OURC member, Nathan Cohen (2005-06) won the Mens Single Sculls at the World University Rowing Championships held in Trakai, Lithuania. Cohen beat the Romanian sculler by 8 seconds to become the only New Zealander to have ever won a World University title.
The victory capped of an exceptional international season for Cohen, who also won the Single Sculls at the Commonwealth Regatta in Scotland three weeks earlier and also won a silver medal at the U23 World Championships in August.
Everyone at OURC is very proud of his efforts.
