Former Otago Women Show Class In Pair
March 31, 2014
Two former members of the Otago University Rowing Club have shown their class in taking out the Womens Pair at World Cup Rowing I in Sydney, Australia.
Rebecca Scown and Louise Trappit were lead through the first 500m by the Canadian Pair, then went on to dominate the later stages and bring home gold in a time of 7:09.70, 4.98 seconds ahead of their nearest rival.
It was a great result for the beginning of the season, and alongside a depleted New Zealand squad they managed to bring home 2 gold, 2 silver and a bronze medal in the opening international event of the season.
All current OURC members look forward to following your progress across the rest of the season.
