OURC at Banklink Rowing Nationals 2012

The OURC Summer rowers competed at the Banklink National Rowing Champs in
Karapiro last week.

The Squad of 11 Rowers competed in novice, club and senior events, with OURC's
RPC athletes also attending the regatta and being prominent in the elite
events.
OURC won six medals at the regatta (two from club crews and four from RPC
athletes), with several very close fourth places for some crews it was a tough
week of racing.

OURC:
Womens Novice Double Scull:
Nicola Shanks and Sophie Smith - 4th Place in the A final
Rose Taylor and Kate Stretton - 6th Place in the A final

Womens Novice Four:
Nicola Shanks, Sophie Smith, Rose Taylor and Kate Stretton and cox Hannah Philip
- 5th Place in the A final

Womens Club Double Scull:
Amanda Taylor and Hannah Philip - 7th in the B final
Nicola Shanks and Sophie Smith - 4th in the repecharge
Kate Stretton and Jenna Smeehuyzen - 5th in the repecharge

Womens Club Single Scull:
Jenna Smeehuyzen - 5th in the repecharge

Womens Club Quad Scull:
Amanda Taylor, Jenna Smeehuyzen, Cleo Gilmour and Hannah Philip - 5th in the
repecharge

Mens Club Single Scull:
Jamie Saunders - Gold Medal
Thomas Stott - 5th in the B final

Mens Senior Pair:
Jamie Saunders and Justin Evans- 4th in the repecharge

Mens Senior Double Scull:
Justin Evans and Michael Nisbet - 6th in the A final

Mens Senior Quad Scull:
Jamie Saunders, Michael Nisbet, Thomas Stott and Justin Evans - 6th in the A
final

Mens Lightweight Pair:
Justin Evans and TJ Leeming(Waihopair) - Bronze Medal
