Please find below information about signing up to row for Otago University for 2014.
If your in Dunedin for O Week please come to Clubs Day in the University Union building on Wednesday 19th Feb - between 10am - 3pm.
If you want to row for Otago this semester you must be available to race at the NZ Universities Rowing Championships at Easter - April 18, 19, 20th - you then have the semester break after this.

TRIAL INFORMATION FOR OURC 2014
SENIOR/INTERMEDIATE TRIALISTS
• The first meeting for Seniors and Intermediates will be at the Clubrooms on Monday 24th February 7pm -8pm

• BOAT Setup – All past members are required to help set up boats at the club on Monday 24th from 5pmh February at 9am – New members more than welcome.

• Competing in the NZ Universities Rowing Championships is only for people who are doing a minimum of one paper at the University of Otago. You must be available to train mornings from 6am -7:30am sharp (you will make your 8am) – Mon – Thursday and Saturday from 8am – 11am - Only 6 weeks of training. And you must obviously be available to race on the 18th, 19thth and 20th of April at Lake Waihola, Duedin. This is not for casual/social rowers. – We will offer social rowing from May onwards.

• Meeting -Where? OUSA Aquatic Centre at the end of Magnet St – map on website – www.ourc.org.nz

• If you wish to trial for Senior and Intermediate No 1 Crews, you must do a 2000m erg race; These will
be supervised on Wednesday 26th, Thursday 27th, Friday 28th Feb 4pm – 6:00pm. Past erg scores will not be accepted - you will not be considered for a No 1 crew without doing an erg

• All athletes are encouraged to do a 2km erg race to help with their selection.

• Costs: 1st Semester Club subs $200, Subs to be paid by Saturday 8th March. This is to be paid at the Club. Money in an envelope with your name and crew written on it. Cheques to be made payable to: Otago University Rowing. You may be replaced after this date if you have not paid. Singlets $30, Rowsuits $95, Caps $20. University Rowing Champs Entry Fee $65. There will be a cost for petrol contribution for travel to and from the lake. Second semester costs $200.

• Holidays – the Uni Champs this year are on Easter weekend, therefore university holidays begin on the Friday of our first day of racing. Please organise travel home for either late Sunday afternoon or Monday morning.

SOCIAL FUNCTIONS
• The first function will be Crate Day on Saturday the 8th March starting at 2pm. Venue to be confirmed. Pub Crawl 22nd of March, Singlet Night 10th April.

NOVICE & TOURNAMENT TRIALISTS
• The first meeting for Novice and Tournament trialists will be at the Clubrooms on Monday 24th February 6-7pm You will begin training on Tuesday 25th Feb 6am-7:30am

• Competing in the NZ Universities Rowing Championships is only for people who are doing a minimum of one paper at the University of Otago. You must be available to train mornings from 6am -7:30am sharp (you will make your 8am) – Mon – Thursday and Saturday from 8am – 11am - Only 6 weeks of training. . And you must obviously be available to race on the 18th, 19th and 20th of April at Lake Waihola, Dunedin. This is not for casual/social rowers. – We will offer social rowing from May onwards.

• We aim to have two Novice Men’s and two Novice Women’s crews compete at the NZ Universities Rowing Championships.

• What do I wear? Long socks, polyprop top, bike pants or tight fitting shorts (not board shorts or rugby shorts), spare clothes, a hat, sunglasses, Jandals/scuffs or something similar (that you can wear into the water).

• When? You must be available to train 4 weekday mornings 6-7:30am and Saturday morning at 8am – 11am - commitment for 6 weeks will have its just rewards.
